Rode to Tortilla Flat, a small (pop. 6) unincorporated town that is the last surviving stagecoach stop along the Apache Trail. It was originally a camping ground for prospectors in search of gold in the Superstition Mountains. The town is owned by a former farmer from Indiana.

We walked in and the hostess asked if we wanted to saddle up at the bar. I thought it was a cute Wild West kind of question …..
